Sarthak is working with sincerity to provide children who were deprived of nutritious food, good living and their rights to live due to their family problems, to give them strong support and guidance to enjoy life and move towards future.
We give maximum emphasis on sports to sustain children as sports is a medium which gives good health to children by stimulating concentration and enthusiasm by pleasing the mind of children. Sarthak is trying to give a new lease of life to the children of the institution by preventing them from committing extraneous criminal tendencies, bad habits and misdeeds and bringing them into the mainstream of society to get the happiness and rights of their childhood. At the beginning of the Sarthak 30-35 children were run away or sent out by us from the Sarthak as their not willing to live a disciplined and decent life.
Unfortunately, 6 of them were died due to overdose of drugs or fights between themselves. 9- 10 of them were have a criminal background and frequently goes to juvenile jail. This unfortunate incidence makes a strong impact on us. We are forced to change our thinking. we are changed our focus we started giving priority to keep them alive. For this purpose, we find a path of sports to keep them intact in Sarthak. We also change our motto from “come- live- eat – play and save the mankind” from “come – learn- earn and serve the nation” .
We believe sports are important for inculcating discipline and team work within the children. Moreover sports teaches an important lesson - "how to digest defeat in games and ultimately in life". We have two football grounds, a proper cricket pitch with nets for season ball, three tables for Table Tennis, a volleyball ground, and a ground for Kabbaddi with red soil.
To nurture the children, Sarthak places the greatest emphasis on sports. Because sports is a medium that keeps children’s mindset happy, creates concentration and enthusiasm, and gives them good health.
Sarthak has provided children with a huge playground, a proper hall for table tennis, and all necessary sports equipment.
12 children from Sarthak are playing football at the district, state, and national levels in different age groups. One child from Sarthak has been selected for the national team in football and 2 children for the I-League.
06 boys and girls are performing well in table tennis at the district and state levels.
It is noteworthy that Diya Sapna Shinde, this girl, has been Pune District Champion 18 times in Under-11, Under-13 and now in Under-15. She has won a gold medal at the state level and is currently playing the state tournament for Pune District, where she is also achieving victories.
2 boys and 1 girl are working as assistant coaches in different table tennis academies on a stipend.
Some of the children in Sarthak Seva Sangh play very well football. Along with this, the boys are winning football tournaments by going to district and state level. Now our 16 of our children have started coaching for football at the 'Laukik Football Academy' under the guidance of Mr. Laukik Jadhav. We have taken 2 flats on rent for these children. Food and other necessary things are also provided to them by us.
In various different age categories, our children are the part of the LFA team who one so many district and state level trophies. Two of our boys are playing Indian league from mumbai’s RENOWNED FOOTBALL CLUB under 10 and under 15 age category. Our so many other boys and girl also have good skills of football but we have a limitation to send all these children to pune as we don’t have any accommodation facility in pune.
Looking at the district and state level success achieved by the Sarthak’s children so far in football, it is felt that these children can definitely become successful football players.
